PassKeep is a password manager that keeps your passwords, secure notes, cards and identities in an encrypted vault on your devices, with optional encrypted sync between them.
Free gives you the full PassKeep app — every offline feature, forever, with no account. Premium adds live, end-to-end encrypted sync across your computers, the web vault and the browser extension, plus a Premium key. It comes for 6 months, a year, or for life.
Yes. Your vault is encrypted on your device with XChaCha20-Poly1305, using a key made from your master password (stretched with Argon2id) and your Secret Key. The server only stores encrypted data and never receives your master password or Secret Key, so even someone with our servers can’t read your vault or guess your password.
A 128-bit code (it starts with PK1-) made on your device when you create your account. It is mixed into your encryption together with your master password, so data taken from our servers is useless for guessing your password. Your devices remember it; you type it once when you sign in on a new device. It is in your Emergency Kit and, on any device you’re signed in on, in Settings → Account.
Yes. Your vault is stored on your device, so you can unlock and use it without an internet connection. With Premium, changes sync the next time you are online.
The web app and the browser extension (Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera) are available now. Desktop installers for Windows, macOS and Linux are listed on the Download page as they are published.
After you sign in to a website, PassKeep offers to save the login with a category. Next time you open that site, it fills your username and password — only on the exact site the login belongs to. You can turn automatic filling off in its settings.
Yes. PassKeep imports CSV exports from Chrome, Edge, Bitwarden and 1Password. Delete the CSV file after importing — it is not encrypted.
PassKeep never knows your master password, so it cannot be reset or recovered. Keep an encrypted backup and store your master password somewhere safe.
Open Settings → Account on any device you’re still signed in on to see it and save a new Emergency Kit. PassKeep never receives your Secret Key, so if you lose it and every signed-in device, it can’t be recovered — print your Emergency Kit and keep it safe.
Your vault reaches us already encrypted. On top of that, sign-in data and personal details are encrypted again with a server key kept outside the database, the database is encrypted at rest, connections use TLS, backups are encrypted with a key kept offline, and logs are scrubbed of emails and keys. Card payments are handled by Cashfree; card details never reach us.
Yes. Get Premium any time from your account, or upgrade a 6-month or yearly plan to Lifetime. If a plan ends, your vault keeps working offline on your devices and stays on our servers in encrypted form until you renew.
Yes. Sync is a switch on the Sync page. Turn it off and that vault stays only on that device — Premium or not.
